Taxpayers can't wait for refunds

North Carolina residents eager to get their income tax refunds quickly paid an estimated $44.3 million in fees in 2004 to obtain their money in advance, according to a new state report.  It's "a bad deal for North Carolinians," state Treasurer Richard Moore said in a prepared statement. Council of State to vote against OLF

The state’s top elected officials voted unanimously Tuesday to draft a resolution against a Navy-proposed outlying landing field in Washington and Beaufort counties.
