Poll: Moore pulls even with Perdue

The Democratic primary for governor is a dead heat, according to a new poll.

A survey by Public Policy Polling showed Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue with 38 percent of likely voters in the Democratic primary, followed by State Treasurer Richard Moore with 37 percent.

The Observer reported this week that Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue has turned down requests from at least five TV stations for debates with Treasurer Richard Moore in the Democratic primary for governor. Add one to the list.

RALEIGH -- The Republican candidates for N.C. governor have taken part in almost twice as many televised events as their Democratic counterparts, leading Richard Moore to criticize Democratic rival Beverly Perdue as a debate dodger.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- State Treasurer Richard Moore says he'll increase the minimum wage by a dollar and waive community college tuition for high school graduates if he's elected governor
